Livable Wages for Men and Women Are Important

Liveable wages are important for men and women to become self-sufficient. Self-sufficiency means that individuals or families are able to meet their basic needs without subsidies of any kind. The monthly costs that are necessary to cover the most basic essentials include: housing, food, transportation, health care, and child care (if needed), plus a bare-bones miscellaneous. Miscellaneous covers all other costs such as telephone, entertainment, subscriptions, gifts, professional dues, savings, family emergencies, etc.
